Cheltenham v Leeds United preview

Preview track

It's spooky how things happen.......... just take this afternoon. While the present Mrs Marching on Together was preparing the tin of goodies for all the witches and ghouls who would be knocking on the door for trick or treats this evening  the phone rang..........yes you've guessed it was her mother...Spooky!
So on the theme of Halloween will we be tricked or treated tomorrow against our bogey team Cheltenham.  They seem to have shipped numerous injuries to their key players so we should be able to halt our run of poor away form and strengthen out position near the summit of the table. The defence looked shaky again on Tuesday and I'm afraid Ben Parker looked very ordinary when attacked by a winger with pace..........so possibly Aidy White will return to add a bit of speed.  At the risk of sounding like a stuck record I hope Robbo is on from the start to add that bit of unpredictability and penetration with the final ball to worry their defence.  I know I've got a bit of a negative head on today but one aspect of the game we have been vulnerable is set pieces, both attacking and defending.  We have wasted the vast majority of our corners and free kicks so far this season and yet when the boot is on the other foot teams seem to cause us immense problems (Rotherham, Southend, Oldham etc).  So on the off chance that Macca is reading this.........I'm available as your set piece coach!
The one thing that is becoming clear is that no one team has yet been able to put consistent results together, including the mighty whites, to distant themselves from the pack. Consequently the table is very congested at the top and crying out someone to take charge.............so this weekend will be the start of our unbeaten run that will have us at the top come Boxing Day...........there a bit more of a positive end!
The Happy Chocker and I will be on the 9.09am train from Selby with another long journey in front of us to the town of Cheltenham, more famous for its's horse racing than football.  As ever there will be a large number of Leeds fans there to cheer their heroes on, despite their current predictament, solid in the belief that one day in the not too distant future we will return to the big time.  When we do it will make it all that sweeter to have experienced the days out to Cheltenham, Yeovil etc.
Must go now as the first of the trick or treaters are here..........I'm looking forward to frightening the little darlings with my Scream mask!
