Hold on tight we're on the final lap!

The aftermath of our JPT defeat on penalties rumbles on. Distraught Johnstone's Paint officials were seen crying after the game having seeing the lucrative prospect of a full house at Wembley snatched from their grasp by Carlisle's more accurate penalty taking. Well if they'd had proper rules, ie away goals count double, then they'd have been laughing all the way to the bank and I'd have been figuring out how to scrape up enough money together to follow the whites to Wembley. Tough shit.

It's now back to the league and the final 18 games. I reckon 30 points from those games will be more than enough to get us out of this god forsaken league once and for all. That would give us a comfortable 91 points. If we maintain our average of 2.178 points per game up to now we will end up with 100 points. Sounds simple when you distill it down to statistics but I'm expecting a bumpy ride in from here................I mean when have ever done anything the easy way?

The visit to Orient is typical of what lies ahead. They are on a 5 match unbeaten run including an impressive 5.0 thrashing of Bristol Rovers. We will be playing in front of another sell out crowd on another compact pitch that will test the nerve and quality of the Leeds squad. We are 26 points in front of them though so we should have enough nous to return to West Yorkshire with at least 1 point if not all 3. Injuries are beginning to play a significant role with Beckford and Kissy still apparently doubtful for tomorrows game. After Lubo's calamitous mistake at Brunton Park and the recent generosity in defence we need a couple of battling clean sheets to restore confidence starting with tomorrow. The return of Kisnorbo would be a big plus.

Paul Dickov has trained this week with the team and I wouldn't be surprised if Lord Larry finds a spot on the bench for him at Brisbane Road. I know he's a niggly twat who upsets both opposing teams and fans alike...................he should fit in well at Leeds then! I do hope Kilkenny and Mad Max have patched up their differences after their lovers tiff at Carlisle. I don't mind players showing a bit of emotion on the pitch and certainly both the whinging Aussie and Mad Max have plenty of potential in that department.

So another long away day in prospect for the trip to the Orient. Can't see us beating the unusual sight of a transvestite Spurs fan like we saw last week but who knows...............................we might even see a Chelsea fan who lives in West London and not Grantham! You never know?

Finally with Norwich facing a tricky trip to the south coast and the home of the Seagulls we could be back on top the league by 5pm Saturday. I'm thinking a 2.0 win for Leeds with McSheffrey finally breaking his scoring duck. Sounds good to me?
Bumpy ride or not..............I can't wait.
MOT
PS If you're wondering why the pic of our win at the Theatre of Shite...........it's just that I still can't stop grinning from ear to ear when I think about Becks goal. Simples!
